Meet Andrew

After earning my B.A. at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, I moved to NYC in 2000, and pivoted in 2003 from real estate finance to the music industry.  I was 24 when I clawed my way into an unpaid A&R internship at Epic Records (Sony Music), and thus began my career in music.

In 2007 I accepted a position at EMI Music Publishing who sponsored my MBA at The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Additionally, EMI relocated me to Los Angeles in 2009.

In 2012, BMG Music Publishing called. Here I worked my way up to Co-head of A&R, North America.

And then in 2018 I accepted a position at Downtown Music Publishing as Head of A&R, North America, before being promoted to Global Head of A&R.

I departed Downtown in July 2020 to align music, celebrity, and advocacy with social justice going into the 2020 election.  Unbeknownst to me at the time, this work would be rewarded with a position at Roc Nation as EVP of Music Publishing, based in Los Angeles.

Some of my creative accomplishments over the years include signing Andra Day and working with her on Rise Up, signing and having a hand in the development of Lewis Capaldi, placing global chart topper The Middle with Zedd, and being an early creative champion of Sia.

After watching Andra Day and Rise Up unlock open the door to the White House during the Obama Administration, I replicated this in 2020 by placing The War and Treaty, who I was then developing, on the Official Biden presidential platform.  I also pitched and am Executive Producer of a musical film about The War and Treaty with an Oscar level team.

In my free time I love photography, skiing, reading, traveling, fly fishing, and meeting new people who have interesting stories and perspectives to share.
